Professional Clinical Supervision
Purpose.
The term clinical supervision can be defined as “…an interactional process in which a supervisor has been assigned or designated to assist in and direct the practice of supervisees in the areas of teaching, administration, and helping, and the supervisees are graduates of an accredited schools of social work who are engaged in practice that assists people to overcome physical, financial, social, or psychological disruptions in functioning through individual, group, or family intervention methods efforts.”-Clinical Supervision Curriculum Guide.
With this definition in mind, the purpose of our supervision sessions will be to steer your clinical practice in a direction that teaches you how to become an efficient, effective, and ethical social worker. The main focus of supervision is to help you develop accountability for client care. Some focus areas for supervision will be to learn how to (A) Appropriately Diagnose, (B) Create Intervention and /or Treatment Plans (C) Practice ethically according to the NASW Code of Ethics, and (D) The process of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Jessica Barnes, MSW, LCSW is a seasoned clinical social worker with over 12 years of experience providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to children, adolescents, and adults. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Jessica has been mentoring and supervising associate-level clinicians for several years, helping them develop confidence, clinical competence, and ethical decision-making in the field of social work.
Jessica is especially passionate about supporting LCSWAs as they transition into private practice, offering guidance on both the business and clinical aspects of sustainable, client-centered work. She provides supervision that is structured, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based approaches.

Jessica is Level I trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and is certified and rostered through the NC Child Treatment Program in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She provides clinical oversight and support, ensuring excellence in care and fidelity to best practices.
Known for her grounded, calm presence, Jessica brings clarity and stability to situations involving high stress, anxiety, or emotional complexity. She is deeply committed to helping emerging clinicians become ethical, effective, and confident social work professionals.
Supervising Costs:
Initial Meeting/Interview: Free 30 minutes
Subsequent Individual Supervision: $80
Supervision Via Technology: $80 (up to 20 hours)
Group Supervision: $50 (based on group availability)
